Mary's Associate Teachers
When Mary learned to teach, she sat in on lessons with a very generous teacher who was interested only in promoting good technique and helping students. In the spirit of her mentors, Mary is now involved in training new teachers. Following is a list of Mary's students who have been studying for quite some time, and who have also sat in on Mary's lessons with other students and who Mary considers trustworthy and ready to teach her technique. She recommends them highly as the best teachers she knows, and encourages you to work with them whenever you can.
Joe Genuardi 
Joe Genuardi has been Mary's student for approximately 15 years, and became her first associate teacher. He is also National Entertainment Director for all the Howl at the Moon nightclubs, where he performs nightly in Orlando, Tampa, Ft. Lauderdale, or wherever he is opening a new club. Joe is busy with his performing career, but makes time for students in his home studio in New Port Richey. He is an excellent teacher and performer, and Mary recommends him highly. Katy Decker
Katy Decker became Mary's associate teacher in 2005. She has an undergraduate degree in voice from Carnegie Mellon and an Master's Degree in voice also. Katy has sung opera with the Orlando Opera and the Atlanta Opera, and has a recording contract with her heavy rock band, Menna Brinno, which will tour in 2009 to promote their new album. Katy works with Mary in Tampa, and has built a very successful studio there. The students are making excellent progress with Katy, who is an outstanding teacher. You can reach Katy at 813-298-7125.
Susan Niekamp
Susan has been working with Mary approximately five years, and came to her as a voice teacher who already had an active clientele. She has an undergraduate degree and a Master's degree in voice. Susan has become the biggest advocate of Mary's technique in Southwest Florida. She has her own voice studio in Ft Myers, Advanced Mentor Studios, and she also teaches one day each week in Naples. Mary travels to Ft Myers monthly, where she works with students at Susan's studios. The students have made stunning progress under Susan's careful watch. Susan's number: 239-561-1485
Jennifer Strode
Jennifer Strode is an excellent singer and performer. She specializes in jazz and musical theatre, and performs actively with a jazz band in Southwest Florida. Jen has been teaching with Susan Niekamp in Ft. Myers for several years. Jennnifer has been studying with Mary for five years, and she and Mary share several students in the Ft.Myers/Naples area, who have been making excellent progress. Mary highly recommends Jennifer as a teacher of her technique.

Brian Lee
Brian is an accomplished musician (flute, cello, piano) and a terrific accompanist, who holds two masters' degrees in music, but who had been unable to sing his entire life. He came to Mary frustrated and unhappy; he now has made so much progress that he stars in area musicals and has recently moved to the Silver Springs, Maryland area to open his own voice studio. Brian has observed many lessons with Mary, and has become a real student and advocate of the technique. Happily, there is now someone in the Washington, DC, area that Mary can recommend. It's Brian! Peter Brabson
Peter is an accomplished opera and classical music singer, and has performed with the Palm Beach Opera, the Miami Opera, Long Beach Opera, Cal State University Opera, the Nevada Opera, the Master Chorus of South Florida, and the Arizona Opera. He has worked as an adjunct music professor at Miami Dade College, Mesa College, Rutgers University, Douglass College and at Cal State. His extensive resume is very impressive, and he is happy to now add singing tenor parts to his long list of accomplishments. Peter has a Bachelor of Music from Rutgers University, and a Masters in Voice and Music Theory from Rutgers. He became Mary's student in 2007, and accompanied her to New York where he performed in Mary's presentation to the New York Singing Teachers' Association. Rosanne Fraley
Mary met Rosanne while doing a series of master classes in Frederick, Maryland, in 2006. Rosanne began travelling to New York City to work with Mary while she was there, and to observe lessons. She continues to work with Mary in New York, and has begun teaching Mary's technique at her home and at schools in Frederick. Rosanne and her family are a troupe of children's entertainers, and she has an extensive performance resume, as well, having worked in jazz, musical theatre, and cabaret. Rosanne is becoming a very good teacher, and has earned Mary's recommendation. Rosanne teaches at her studio in Frederick, Maryland, and in the Washington, DC area. Her number is 301-964-6544.
Laura Long
Mary's newest associate teacher is from St. Petersburg. Laura is an accomplished performer, having worked in several area churches and clubs as a singer, and comes to Mary with an already-thriving studio. She has worked hard to master Mary's technique, and is now passing it on to her students. Laura is now singing better than she ever has, and is passing Mary's technique on to her students.
